The Climate and Tree Planting

By Planting Trees, We Alleviate the Consequences of a Broken Planet

At the equator, we are planting beneficial trees that are helping the planet, African farmers, and us.

Weather extremes and natural disasters plague millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa. As a result of climate change, extreme poverty is intensified and people suffer from a shortage of drinking water and food. More and more of the poorest rural and coastal inhabitants are forced to leave their homes and migrate to survive. The climate crisis has hit those, who have contributed to it the least, with the most strength.

How We Are Helping

Together with local farmers, we are planting long-lived beneficial trees, which will help mitigate the effects of the climate crisis. So far we have planted more than 1 million trees.

In cooperation with our local partner, we have set up nurseries for growing cashew and macadamia tree seedlings in Kenya and Ethiopia. We offer the seedlings to farmers who take care of them and grow adult trees. In addition to a nut harvest, the trees also reduce emissions in the atmosphere and contribute to climate recovery.

When the tree yields a harvest, we buy the nuts and process them in our factory. The farmers and the nut processing factory are connected to the fair trade system, which gives them fair conditions, fair wages and better living conditions.

For every €5 we pant one tree, which will contribute to a better future. You too can help our planet by donating a tree.

By Donating Trees, You Enable:
  • The planet to better regenerate, absorb excess CO2 emissions, and create prevention from soil erosion. Thanks to the trees, you can reduce your ecological footprint.
  • Farmers in Africa to secure a sustainable source of livelihood, and dignified working and living conditions. Thanks to the trees, farmers can break free of the vicious circle of poverty and get on the path from help to self-help.
